Who are you?
Hi. I'm Michael. I teach people how to dance.
I started dancing almost 14 years ago — an adventure that started with country/western dancing and quickly snowballed into ballroom, tango, and swing. I've been teaching since 2008. I love teaching beginners.
Whether you're looking to choreograph a viral YouTube masterpiece for your first dance, or just learn some basics, I can help you prepare for your wedding dance, affordably and stress-free!
What dances do you teach?
I can teach you to dance to almost any kind of music, including waltz, jazz, tango, hip-hop, & country/western.
Popular dances for weddings include:
- Waltz (American, International, Viennese)
- Foxtrot
- Polka
- Texas Two-Step
- Tango
- Swing (Jitterbug, West-Coast, East-Coast)
What's your teaching philosophy?
Dancing should be comfortable, expressive, and fun.
I believe that dancing isn't just a set steps in a syllabus. (It's so much simpler and more beautiful than that!) Dancing is a chance to share space, movement, and energy with another person.
You're getting married, right? So, you understand your partner. You communicate. You compromise. You have fun together. These are exactly the characteristics that make good dancers! You're probably a good dancer already — even if you don't know it yet!
Instead of just teaching you a "routine" to memorize and stress over, I'll show you how to move together, easily and beautifully, so you can dance well at your wedding and enjoy dancing together for many years to come!
Why should I hire you?
You should hire me because I'm really good at teaching people to dance! I'll make sure you have an awesome experience when you learn from me. I will tailor every detail of our time together to suit your needs, wishes, and whims.
Never danced before? AWESOME!
Want to include your parents? Why not?
Need help selecting or cutting music? That's included!
Wedding's in five days? No worries. We'll make it happen.
Convinced you have two left feet? I'll prove you wrong.
How much does it cost?
Just $50 per 1-hour lesson. (This is much less expensive than most studios in town. I encourage you to shop around and compare.)
In my experience, it takes only four or five hours for clients to progress from two-left-feet to comfortable-and-confident. (I'll meet with you as much or as little as you need to be comfortable!)
To keep things easy, I accept payment by cash, check, or credit card.
I'm convinced. How do I sign up?
I can't wait to talk to you!
